Welcome

International Cooperation

SANi is a well organised network of academics, researchers and engineers from universities, the private sector and research councils with the common goal of involving South Africa in the emerging field of Nanotechnology and Nanoscience.

The South African Department of Science and Technology encourages and supports this initiative and international cooperation.

SANi has a special interest in projects focused at the beneficiation of our natural resources, including Platinum, Gold, Vanadium and Titanium.

Framework Six Programme (EU Research Area)

Participation in the EU‘s Framework Programme Six (FP6) is greatly encouraged and financially supported by the Department of Science and Technology. That means that a FP6 Project consortium can invite a South African group for no extra cost to the project. The South African group’s contribution will be for free.
